Church History Biographical Database
There were many missions focused on Native American tribes. In the early years of the Church they were not organized as missions with presidents and individuals often served unofficially or in unorganized missions as they fulfilled their duties in settlement.
By 1855 there were several official missions organized to preach to tribes across the United States.
However, a few were organized with mission leaders and/or presidents. These were the major missions:
Lamanite Mission (1830-1831)
Southern Indian Mission (1853-1869)
Indian Territory Mission (1855-1898)
Formed in Manchester, Ontario, New York, United States
