About 250 individuals and 40 wagons were in the company when it began its journey from the outfitting post at Keokuk, Iowa or Kanesville, Iowa (present day Council Bluffs). They crossed the Missouri River on June 3.
Members of the company arrived in the Salt Lake Valley 17-26 September 1853.
