At the end of the 1856 immigration season, Franklin D. Richards and several other immigration agents and returning missionaries remained in Florence to close the accounts. They then made their way to Salt Lake as an express company. The day after their arrival in Salt Lake, they met with Brigham Young and informed him on the companies still out on the plains.
