This small company of 26 people and 7 wagons departed from San Bernardino, California, en route to Utah. They crossed the Mojave Desert to Las Vegas via the California-Salt Lake Road. The company disbanded at Santa Clara, Utah, with some of the party continuing further north.

The company was officially organized on 27th November 1857, under the direction of Henry G. Boyle. At that time, Robert Crow was elected as company captain.
