Approximately 71 wagons and 140 adults were listed on the Wimmer company report, which was compiled just before the company began its journey from the outfitting post at Kanesville, Iowa (present day Council Bluffs) in early July. Including children and additional family members, approximately 250 people total traveled in the Wimmer company.
