Left Keokuk, Iowa 18 May [left Kanesville, Iowa, 1 July] with 79 individuals and 12 wagons in the company when it began its journey.
In his Reminiscences Jesse W. Crosby, who had been serving as Mission President in Nova Scotia, recalled that while there he had traveled extensively in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, New England and New York encouraging Latter-day Saint converts to settle their affairs and emigrate to the Salt Lake Valley. Those who followed his counsel met him at New Your City on 20 April 1853 and organized for their journey to the West. [See pages 88-94 of MS 1525, the hand written copy.]
The members of this company arrived at Salt Lake City on 10-11 September 1853.
