86 individuals and 28 wagons were in the company when it began its journey from the outfitting post at Florence, Nebraska (now Omaha). William Walker separated from the freight train and reached Salt Lake two to three weeks sooner than the rest of the train. The last members of the company came in as late as 15 September.
