I left Winter quarters Apr the 7th 1847 with the 147 men with, Pres. Young. I was detailed with four others to go back from Green River to Pilot the next Emigration through the Black hills. Sending My Wagon and outfit onto the Valley by my Companion {mas…} hence my detention from not arriving in July 24th
