We continued our journey on railroad from New York to St. Joseph and from there on steamer up the river Missouri to Florenze [Florence], where we had to stop and wait for the church teams from Utah.	
Monday 27th—Arrived at Florenze, where we stayed till July 24, and had a good time with lots of fun for the young folks who did not have much to do but play.
July 24th—We commenced our slow journey across the plains with ox teams in Cap. John Murdocks Co. I walked nearly every step from Florenze to Salt Lake City, where we arrived Sept. 27th.
