Transcript for Andrus, Milo, [Autobiography], in "Utah Pioneer Biographies," 44 vols., 3:216-17

We landed at Kanesville early in May; was organized in the first company of Saints early in June. I was chosen Captain over 55 wagons. We had a good time on the plains, arriving in Salt Lake City the last day of August having but one death on the journey that of a stranger going to California. I baptized 15 persons on the journey. James Leithead and Richard Hopkins were clerks of the company.
