FORT LARAMIE, Aug. 15, 1855.
 
TO THE EDITOR OF THE LUMINARY:
	DEAR SIR—In connection with the report sent you by brother [Daniel] Caveen, I would say that we are getting along well on the plains. Unity and peace prevails among us. The saints rejoice in their journey. No stampeads have yet taken place among the cattle. The feed has been good. The roads between Ash Hollow and Laramie have been rather heavy. During the fore part of the journey they were very good; but the large government freight trains have cut them up where the soil was sandy. Our cattle stand the journey well. The Indians are peaceable. No interruptions to our emigration that I have heard of.
