Fri. [July] 3 . . . . We held a meeting this afternoon & organized the company for their journey across the mountains by appointing Brother H. Thatcher Captain of the company & Oliver N. Harmon Sergeant of the Guard.

Sat. 4. Names of those comprising the company are: Hezekiah Thatcher, his wife, John Thatcher and his brother Joseph Thatcher, George Thatcher, Harriet Ann Thatcher, Washington F. Anderson & his son [his wife, Caroline], Levi Dougherty, Washington Roggers, Oliver Harmon, James Bell & George & Cyrus Snell. . . .

Mon. 6. This morning parted with the saints. They are going across the mountains & Brother Moses and me to Salmon Falls. The saints comprising this company have used me well, have been kind to me & administered to my necessities. . . .
