I attended the Church at Wisby untill the year 1868 when I emmigrated to Utah, being the only Mormon from that city that left at that time[.] I left Wisby May 8th 1868 and went to Liverpool England. and from there I took passage on the sailing vessel "John Britt" together with 750 Saints

We were 6 weeks and 3 days on the Ocean before we reached New York. We went from N.Y. to a point 2½ miles days travel beyond Omaha by train, that being the fartherest West the railroad went at that time. There we were met by mule team from Utah, which carried our luggage and those that were not able to walk[.] all others walked

and we arived in Salt Lake city the 25 of Aug 1868 in good health and sprits. Haveing enjoyed our long walk and glad to be in Zion.
