Conference Minutes.
BIG PIGEON TABERNACLE,
April 6th, 1852.

The Annual Conference of the Pottawatamie District of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, commenced at the above place and date.

Present of the Quorum of the Twelve-Orson Hyde and E. T. Benson.

Bishops-W. W. Lane, J. G. Bigler, Levi Bracken.

High Council-J. C. Snow, B. B. Messenger, Jona. Browning.

Presidents of branches and Captains of emigrating companies for the branches in Pottawatamie County were also present. . . .

President E. T. Benson, then spoke to the Captains of Emigrating companies; gave them good instruction; said they should be active and encourage their companies; said they ought to go according to the commands--said the word from the mountains was to all to come along if they had to come 100 souls to 5 wagons &c., said if they went ahead they would be blessed in the name of Israel's God but if they remained here, and turned away from God and forget ther covenants woe! woe!! be to all such and he blessed the Saints in the name of Israel's God.

Elder Uriah Curtis spoke, showing that light was in the Valley, &c.

Elder O. Hyde said he had no counsel to give, as to which side of the Platte, the Saints should go, but exhorted them to get ready to start as early as possible. The Choir sung hymn. . . .

Elder A. McRae followed on faithfulness &e.; referred to his first days in the Church of Jesus Christ of L. D. S.; spoke of being in prison with President Joseph Smith, Jr &c. said the Saints should go to the Valley this season. . . .
