Sailed for America, 2 mar 1850. Lands in America 2 May 1850 and in St. Louis 16 May 1850, went out to Gravious Region stayed there 11 months. Left there with a 3 horse team, with my brother David on the 15th of May 1851 enjoying good health, stayed there until the 1st of July, owning to the heavy rains.
That season we left the 3 mile groove [grove] for the city of Great Salt Lake, on the 2 July 1851. We had to leave the [-] owing to high water which turned us out of our way 160 miles on the route.
We lost our horses, between the 2 lake fort and landed in Salt Lake City, Utah the 15th sept 1851.
