Letter from Bishop Cunningham.
ST. LOUIS, FEB. 10, 1857.

EDITOR MORMON,—Dear Sir :—I find in perusing THE MORMON of the 17th Jan., that you have not received my report relating to the settlements in Nebraska Territory, I will therefore again give you a few outlines.

I left Florence the 6th of Nov., with a small company to look for a place in order to make a settlement. We located on Beaver river, 100 miles form Florence, and there made large claims. It is a beautiful country, well adapted to farming and to raising stock. We returned to Florence on the 15th of the same month, and I immediately wrote to you, giving you some account of our prospects. On the 24th of Decr. I left Florence for Quincy, Ill., where I expected to find the copy of THE MORMON that I had requested to be sent there to my address; but I was disappointed. I wrote to you from Quincy, the 12th of Jan., and in the letter sent you $11 of subscription money, with a list of names, but have not yet learned that you received it. I have made a contract for an engine and saw mill, which we expect to take to our new settlement in April. I would like to invite my brethren, through the columns of your valuable paper, to come and share with us the blessings of making a new settlement.

Come, brethren; come with your teams, wagons, plows, seed, grain, potatoes, in fact every kind of seed, so that we may raise a good crop this season. I have made arrangements to have a portable grist mill taken out by harvest. I expect to return to Quincy in a few days, and shall proceed on to Florence the latter part of March, and then shall start for the new settlement at Beaver river as early after as possible. Those who are ready will then go on, and others will follows. May the Lord bless all who bless Zion.
