Transcript for Edward Ockey reminiscence and journal, circa 1857-1858, 3

I started from Winter Quarters (the place where we had wintered), in June with the company that was organized according to the pattern the Lord had given. By 100, by 50, and by 10 we crossed the plains, through the canyons and over the mountains. With a good deal of road fixing and one thing or another we arrived, myself and my three small children, through the blessings of the Lord, safe in Great Salt Lake valley on the 3rd day of October 1847.
