FATAL ACCIDENT ON GREEN RIVER.─A communication has been received by President B. Young from Mr. E.T. Mumford, dated Robison's Ferry, Green River, June 25th, from which we have been kindly permitted to extract the following:

We arrived here this evening without any mishap. The missionaries─Elders Church, Clemons, Petersen, Elldredge, Grant and Teasdale, are all well.

I regret to have to record a sad accident that happened to-day at the ferry, which resulted in the death of six men, named Neils Christoffersen and Peter Smith, of Manti; Peter Nielsen, of Fairview; Christen Jensen and Christen Nebeliah, of Mount Pleasant, and Thomas Yeates, of Millville, Cache co. Bishop Seeley and Simpson Molen's companies met together at the Muddy and arrived at the ferry in safety. They commenced to ferry the wagons last night and to-day; all the wagons were ferried safely over. Then they tried to swim the cattle across the river , but did not succeed, the wind being very high, and the current very strong. One load of cattle was ferried over, and when they were about two-thirds of the way across with the second the cattle rushed to the upper side of the boat, which caused it to capsize and sink, precipitating all the men and cattle into the river. The strain was so great that it broke the main rope. There were nineteen men on the boat. The rope was a new three inch one, or, as a sailor would say, a nine inch, as it was nine inches in circumference. None of the bodies have been recovered.

There were but four cattle drowned.

By all accounts, no blame could be attached to any one, it being one of those mishaps purely accidental.

All the teamsters in the three trains are well, and the cattle are looking better than when they left.
