I came to America with my parents [.] We cross the plains in covered wagon drawn by a cows and a oxen.

I was only four years old then but I can remember I had stand in front of the wagon and hold to the handle of the churn which was fasten[ed] to wagon box so it would not fall.

In the evening when the cow was milked[,] the milk was put into the churn and next day, when we camped at noon and lid was removed I would look in the churn and there would be butter. Althow I was only four years old I will always seeing that first butter.
