Knowing he was able to take care of us—and bring us to a goodly land where we should be free from Mob Law and on the 21st June 1847 the companies started from the Horn River a few miles from the Missouria [Missouri] River and arrived in Salt Lake Valley October 28 1847[.] we had a Pleasant time traveling until we arrived at Laramie we there had our horses stole by the Indians and after I had a hard time having three small children, the Poneys stolen was my team to ride in with my children—I have been in all the pinching times in these mountains and can truly say I never felt to murmur through them all for my Heavenly Father has given me strength in the midst of all things
