Mary Elisabeth Griffithes Born in Lowestoft Suffolk England daughter of John Griffithes and Elisabeth Gill Heaward was baptized in 1861 by John Rackham left England on the 4th of June 1864 sailed from London on ship Hudson Captain Pratt commander he was a cousin of Apostle Orson Pratt were six weeks on the ocean then traveled to Wyoming Nebraska where we outfitted to cross the plains, my mother had a wagon and three yoke of cattle and hired a teamster by the name of Bezzant to drive the team for her, the President of our company was John Kay who died on the plains and after a long hard journey we arrived in Salt Lake City on the 7th of November 1864
