Transcript for Hans S. Larsen, Autobiographical sketch, 3

We left Brooklyn two years after arriving there and in 1868 started for Utah. We came as far as the Platte River, to a place called Benton, by rail. From there on we came with a mule team company of which Edward T. Mumford was Captain. I walked every foot of the distance from Benton and slept under the wagon every night, until we reached Immigration Canyon. Then the party I was with, was met by Mumford's son with an ox team, and we rode into Mill Creek, southeast of Salt Lake City, on September 24, 1868.
