By and bye we were organized under Capt. < J. F.> Secrist, who soon died serving the company, and Bro. N. Gyman was chosen Capt. and brought us safe to this place. On the road I chosen to be a sergeant of the guard and
an
interpreter and had
a
plenty to do and
was blessed
in it; and unto him I give all the praise, honor and glory, feeling very thankfull for my safe return in good condition
rejoicing> in the midst of this people, with whom I desire to live and
to
die, and
to
live again for ever and ever. Amen.
