1831-9 7 Jun 1831 p. 1: Verses. 7, 8 & 9 D& C 52:" And again verily I say unto you, let my servant Lyman Wight, and my servant John Corrill take their journey speedily: And also my servant John Murdock, and my servant Hyrum Smith, take their journey unto the same place by the way of Detroit. And let them journey from thence preaching the word by the way, . . ." 1832-19 26 Jan 1832 p. 1: Elder Murdock recorded that he started from Independence, Jackson, Missouri, on his way to Ohio with Parley P. Pratt, Lyman Wight and Levi W. Hancock. Elders Murdock and Pratt traveled together and Elders Wight and Hancock traveled on much the same route. On 24 Feb 1832,  the two sets of missionaries encountered.each other at the home of Rebecca Perkins. Pratt and Murdock stayed there because of sickness and Hancock and Wight went on. When they went on they found Elders Hancock and Wight at St Louis on the 8th of March. The four of them crossed over the Mississippi and stayed with a Mr. Short.recrossed the river hoping to preach in the Court House. Failing this they cross the river again, traveled 13 miles to C. Post's and preached in the evening. Then Wight and Hancock went on.
