. . .I staid on my place this summer and prepared for gitting toem [team] and outfitt for the Mountains[.] I sold my old oxen Mare and one horse wagon and Bought me one more cow[.] in the fall went to Misourie [Missouri] Bought mee 2 yoke of <3 year old past> steers for Eight Dollars[.] Broke them and my cows and the next June the 6 ^th 1852 Started in Co No 6[.] David Wood Captain of the fifty. Isaac Booxenbark [Busenbark] Company of ten for Salt Lake Valley[.] Some Collery [cholera] on the Road[.] Eleven Died out of the Company[.] I and my wife attended on all of them[.] quite a number recovered who were sick[.] we lost a great maney Cattle. Dallieng along the Road, with great care and faith and doctoring I saved all of mine and Arived in Great Salt [Lake] City September the 20 ^th at Moses Demmings in first Ward.
