Referring to Capt. White's company, Jacob Bowers, one of the teamsters, wrote as follows under the date of Aug. 28, 1916:

"I was a member of Captain Samuel D. White's company in 1863. These are the names of his teamsters: Jacob Bowers, Hezy (Hezekiah?) [Hezekiah] Carter, Charles Ockey, Henry Lamb, Alfred Gadd, Amos Rawlins, Thomas Zundel Charles Green. John Rowley was the night guard. I do not remember any deaths occurring in our train. Six of our teams were from Nephi and one from Mona, Juab Co., Utah."
