Camp of Isirel [Israel] Kanyon Creek

Thursday morning August 29th 1850

Brother Young We are sorry to say that in consequence of not understanding the nature of the old and new routes from Weber River when we wrote to you We thought we would take the new when we came to the Forkes of the Road the Company were called together & it was the unanimous voice of the people to take the old Route[.] We therefor Send you the earliest information of the fact in our pow[e]r in order that if any Location may have Been Selected for our encampment Before our finale dis Bandment We may Be informed of it without disapointment By the mesenger taking the new Route[.] We are about 25 miles from the City & fuly expect to Be in by the time stated
