(page 1) Hebron Dec 22nd 1876 Bro O Pratt Church Historian Dear brother Having a little leasure time I thought I would write you a short Sketch of my travails while on a mission to the Sandwich Islands I was called to go a on a mission to the Sandwich Islands at the Apr Conference 1875 I received my blessing under the hands of Elder Woodruff and by the permition of the first presadency I returned home to prepare for my mission I left my family at Hebron on the 8th of June 1875 and went to S.L. City reached there on the 14th June a distance of 320 miles I left Salt Lake City on the eve of the 17th on the cars reached Sanfrancisco on the Evening of the 19th Stayed one day (page 2) Mon June 21st Embarked on mail steamer City of Milborne for Honolulu reached Honolulu on the 29th of same month I went to Laie the next day June 30th Stayed there until the 10th of July when I Was sent to the Island of Mawi & acompany Bro W to Branch Preached Mawi on the morning of the 13th I Stayed on the Island of Mawi visiting the different branches of the saints & studying the Native language until the evening of the 18th of November When I left for Oahu as the time was drawing near for the Oct Conference I went to Laie & stay until after Conference I was appointed to Travail & study the language on Oahu Were I travailed round the Island twice & visited the diffrent branches of Saints holding meetings at each branch trying to encourage all who would hear me to repent & put away their sins in my broken way as I was very imperfect in the language yet (page 3) I baptised two Members in to the Church & blessed three children on the Island of Oahu I continued my labours on Oahu until Feb 4th 1876 When I was released by Pres A L Smith to return home By order of pres. Brigham Young I sailed on the 4th of february on board the Steamer Micado for City of Sanfrancisco reached City of Sanfrancisco on the 12th of february left on the same evening for Salt Lake City reached S L City on the evening of the 17th of the Same month Left the City on the 19th reached home in good health on the Evening of the 26th I travailed a distance of about 3000 miles in all from the time I left home until I returned Wm Pulsipher Hebron Washington Co Utah
