Hon. W. I. Appleby, with Judge from N. Y. Dulin and Mr. Young and family from James River, N. J. arrived on steamer John Warner, and purpose leaving to-morrow for Utah. Our friends have a late start yet we wish them a quick and pleasant trip o'er the mountains to their future home in the pleasant vales of Utah.

Captain Brown's party, in company with Mr. Homer, and several families of Danes and Americans crossed the Loupe Fork on their way to Utah a week ago. It was expected that they would have stopped at the Beaver settlement until spring, but it seems their go-ahead propensities would not permit of it, and they have pushed on. We hope they may not regret so late a start, but get through without serious accident.
