Letter From Nathan Porter.	
CAMP OF ISRAEL, IOWA CITY, June 29th, 1856.
DEAR PRESIDENT TAYLOR—I embrace with pleasure the present opportunity of informing you and the brethren of my welfare and safe arrival at the camp of the Saints. The first two days tested my strength, but thanks to the Lord he has given me strength to endure the fatigue of the journey, with increasing health. I was disappointed in not seeing you at the depot on my leaving. I was too fatigued to move about in the confusion on board to seek you out; so I sent you my hearty farewell by Brother Felt, and now repeat it and say good-bye for the present, with the blessings of Heaven upon you for your kindness to me; also all the Saints who have visited me and administered to me; please give them my best love and respects in a special manner to Brother and Sister Beaston who shared more deeply in the burden of my affliction.My health is still improving. We arrived at the city on the 24th inst., without any evil befalling us. The ox teams are not yet started; but it is expected they will start this week; the cattle waited for came in yesterday to the number of some 450 head. All the Saints are in fine spirits.
