I left winter quarters 5 of july 1848[.] had a rough time fording rivers[,] crossing on rafts[.] we had to travel until very late at night to get feed and water for our teams[.] we saw many very interesting sights[.] the bufalow and deer[.] I drove a team for a dear English sister that only [had] a little Boy to drive[.] I drove until 10 that night[.] the roads were very [-] could not stop until we reached feed and [-]
