This is information about Sarah Harris, who married William Garrett Ogden, who is the father of your Grandfather, William Thomas Ogden. His brother, Joseph Hyrum Ogden, with the help of Mary Ann Biddulph, who was a sister to Sarah, prepared this history of Sarah.

Sarah Harris was born the 27th of April 1849, at Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England, and was the daughter of James Harris and Ann Taylor.

The first 19 years of her life was spent in England. When seventeen years of age, she was baptized and became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in the year 1866. She had a testimony of the truth of the Gospel and of the goodness of the Lord. She, in company with her two half sisters, two half brothers, her half sister's husband, left England and sailed for America, for their religion's sake. They were on the ocean seven weeks and were among icebergs twenty four hours. After arriving in the U. S., they traveled part way across the country by train and part way by team.
