the 2 day of July me an[d] my Children started for Councile [Council] bluffs[.] there we wintered


[N]ext spring the 6 of June we started for Salt Lake.


Well, I had a hard time with my little Children but the hand of the Lord was over me and my Children an all we had with us. The cholora [cholera] was very bad that year, 2 of my Children came near unto death but the Lord seen fit to spare them.


I arrived in the vally on the 27th of September in 1850.
