SERIOUS ACCIDENT.—Yesterday afternoon, while Capt. Holladay's company was crossing First South Street, near the Theatre, Mrs. Harriet Kidgell, wife of Mr. C. Kidgell, jeweler, was seriously if not fatally injured. Wishing to make some inquiries about an orphan boy whom she and her husband wanted to adopt, and endeavoring to get on to the front of the wagon, the train being in motion, through some mishap she fell to the ground, the fore wheel passing over her body, just above the waist. The hind wheel would also have passed over her but for the prompt exertion of a bystander. She was conveyed to Mr. Grenig's residence, near by, where medical aid was in immediate attendance.
