10. At what place did you join the company or wagon train with which you came to Utah?
10. We joined the ox train with which we came to Utah at Omaha, Nebraska.

11. When did it leave for Utah?
11. The company left for Utah the first of September.

12. What was the place of your destination in Utah? Why did you come to Utah?
12. We had relatives in Utah, but did not know where they were located until we arrived at SALT LAKE CITY. We located them at Mt. Pleasant and came here. My folks came to Utah for religious reasons.

13. When did you arrive there?
13. We arrived in Salt Lake City October 2, 1866.

14. Who was the leader of your company or train?
14. Joseph S. Rollings [Rawlins] was the leader of our company from Omaha, Nebraska to Salt Lake City, Utah.

15. Method of travel (handcart, ox team, mule team, horseback, etc.)
15. We came to Utah by ox teams. The able bodied persons walked, including the drivers of the ox teams.

34. Tell us about coming to your state in a covered wagon.
34. When we were crossing the plains, we were compelled to stop for a stampeding herd of buffalo to pass by. We became weary from the trip long before we reached Salt Lake, as we walked the distance from Omaha. About eight days before we arrived in Salt Lake City, my mother, Elsie Maria Sorensen was overcome by the hard trip and died on the desert. My father, Niels Sorensen, carried the body in the wagon until we made camp that evening and she was buried on the trail, under the supervision of the leaders of the company.
