I should start for great Salt Lake on or about the first of September. the brethren had all scatered out to trie and get an out fit, I wrote them to meet me, and be ready to start at the time specified; accordingly we started on the 9th day of September with Elder Michel [Mitchell] and other missioneries returning home from the Sandwi[t]ch Ilands[.] had a pleasant trip vie the Carson Valley rout[e] across the plains. Arived in Ogden City on the 26th of October 1858. All well and feeling well.
