Transcript for Tamma D. M. Curtis in Carter Pioneers of Provo, Utah (Provo: J. Grant Stevenson, 1966) compiled by Arthur D. Coleman, 123

I [Tamma Durfee Miner Curtis] and my five boys and one girl started with one hundred wagons June 10, 1850. We traveled across the plains with ox teams. We had many a hard struggle although we got along much better than we anticipated.

The first of September we landed in Salt Lake City without any home or anyone to hunt us one, we were very lonesome indeed.
