10. At what place did you join the company or wagon train with which you came to Utah?
10. We landed at Castle Garden, New York and started immediately on our journey west. We joined the ox team and covered wagon company at Omaha, Nebraska. The company made good time crossing the plains and we arrived in Salt Lake City in the middle of Sept. 1868.

65. What was your first contact with the Indians? What Indians. Name of tribes or bands.
65. The first Indians I ever saw eas [saw] at the crossing of the Platt[e] River in 1868. I remember two of them were drunk and as a boy I enjoyed watching them very much.
