We traveled by railroad and steamerboat to Florance [Florence,] Omaha. The name of the Ship we crossed the sea into America was William Tapskahtch [Tapscott], where we wated five days for our outfits, to start our Jurney to Cross the plains. We traveled accrost the Plaines with ox teams.

We arrived in Salt Lake City Utah Sept. 15, 1859, we had a great many triles to pass through, but still I felt it was a pleasent trip.
