June 6 camped at Kansas and crossed the Kansas River

June 8 came to fortlevenworth [Fort Leavenworth

9 for the plaines [plains] 7 or 8 waggons 11 men

June 11 we found A ox with A yoak [yoke] on[.] he was very wild[.] we got A rope on him he run at us all and drove us[.] we took him to Salt lake city and sold him and devided the money

12 we lost all our oxen[.] we found some of the[m] seven miles off

14 found ma[n]y dead oxen and graves of men

24 we came to the big blue[.] forded it

30 came to the platt[e] river[.] the miscatoes [mosquitoes] trubled us very much[.] brother Wick<ers> child died the day before

July 1 we came to fort carney [Kearney]

2 we camea up to A flock of sheep 10000 in number going to california[.] 15 or 20 of them left every day

12 we forded the south fork of the platt[e] river

13 Came to Ash holloh [Hollow]

16 came to chimney rock

20 came to fort larimie [Laramie.] we that had money bought provissions[.] some had no money and no provissions[.] they laid thier case before <the> commander at the fort and he gave <them> freely and liberally so we started refreshed again

August 4 we forded the north fork of the platt[e] river[.] we had some truble to get through and then we few have A widows waggon turned over in the river[.] we car saved the most of the things[.] thier [there] was some men found that had been drownded

Aug 10 we forded sweet water river at independace [Independence] rock

23 came to sulfer [sulfur] and tar spring

September 3 we arrived at salt lake city
