10. Joined the wagon train at New York.

11. When did it leave for Utah?
11. Left for Utah about July 2^nd 1864.

12. What was the place of your destination in Utah? Why did you come to Utah?
12. Destination in Utah was Salt Lake City. Came to Utah because of the Religion.

13. When did you arrive there?
13. Arrived in Salt Lake City, October 30^th 1864.

14. Who was the leader of your company or train?
14. The leader of the company was a man by the name of Warren.

15. Method of travel (handcart, ox team, mule team, horseback, etc.)?
15. The method of travel was by oxteam.

31. Do you recall seeing any buffalo or hunting any wild game? If so, tell about some incident.
31. Remembers seeing some buffalo on the trip the buffalo coming into the camp. My father broke the stock of his gun on the head of one of the buffalo when it came into camp.

34. Tell about coming to your state in a covered wagon.
34. The trip here wasn't pleasant we were always being molested by the Indians. Father came in a company ahead of us bringing a threshing machine and after several days traveling our company came across the remains of the threshing machine and wagons burned and dead bodies lying around and the stock had all been driven off. We thought for sure father had been killed by [but] upon our arrival in Salt Lake our teamster, a man by the name of Anthony Stratton, called father's name three times when he finally got an answer and it was a joyous reunion. There was about five hundred people in our company and some times two and three families to each wagon besides what Church freight could be hauled.
