There was a sort of a train that took them to La Platta station. Bought provision for their trip over the desert. They bought potatoes for a cent a piece, and they had to pay 10 dollars for to have the ride on the train, and them that had no money had to borrow. 
At La Platta they got their ox teams.
Sister Rasmussen and her husband had four oxen. As they had more people traveling with them it was a very tedious journey.
They arrived in Utah the 4th of October.
