"THE LUMINARY" states that a company of Saints are going to start from Atchinson, on the Missouri river. From very good information, we believe this to be the best starting point on the river for those going west, who go up the Missouri river. The road from there to Marysville, at the crossing of the Big Blue, is said to be good, dry and rolling, with plenty of wood and water. We would call the attention of Bros. Snow and Andrews to the above place—Marysville—as its neighborhood, we think, would be an eligible place for a settlement. Its distance from the Missouri river would make it healthy; there is plenty of wood and water; the rich bottoms of the Big Blue would yield abundant harvests, whilst its local position, on the main military road, would afford a good market for all that could be raised. It is about 120 miles from Atchinson.
