On arriving at Council Bluffs, our starting point with the teams, I was taken sick and continued so until we arrived at Fort Laramie, where we camped for a general clean up. While resting, I began to improve so fast that in a short time I was chosen captain of the night guard. Arrived in Salt Lake City September 13th, 1852, in perfect health.
