We arrived in GSL City October 17, 1858. having been much prospered on our Jurey [Journey]. Met with no accidents encountered no serious or [-] storms, only two or three [--], weather fine and pleasant. cattle stood the Jurey well little one [-], lost only one ox by death, two yoke of Bro. Young lost and was not recovered. saw thousands of Indians on the way, all very friendly, met sev[er]al hundred Teamsters & c. returning from Utah to States, who had been in Government employ. Some cases of chills & fever in camp, none serious. [illegible] while we made a speedy trip and the hand of Providence has been with us for good & we have arrived at home safe for which blessings & all others we render all the praise to our Heavenly Father. Amen
