Thursday 21 Feav[e]r Packed up the Carts and leaving The ground at Noon I was Then unable to walk but Stoped till The Evening and road out in The Waggon The Distance of 3 mills [miles]. Stoped ther all Night
Friday 22 Stoped on The Camp Ground untill 5 P.M. A metting ware huld [held] on The ground[.] Brother E. Snow & James A Littele [Little] ware Present and gave us good Instructions. The day was fine[.] Brother E Snow and Little laid there hands on me[.] Brother Snow rebuked The Descess [Disease] That was on me and Blessed me in the Name of The Lord[.] we Traveled from 2 to 3 mills Then pitched The Tents for The Night[.] I felt Better and Sleaped well all Night
Satterday 23 got up about 6 A. M. Eat Braskfass [breakfast] Atended metting[.] Then Brother J A Little returned back to Iowa Camp[.] The Camp got ready and started at 9 oclock and Traveled till noon[.] Stoped till ½ Past 3 Then Traveled untill 7 P.M. The Day fine
Sunday 24 Camp arose at 6 A.M. high wind and little rain[.] The Camp moved off at 8 Am and Traveled till ½ P[ast] 11[.] Stoped untill 1 Pm Then Trav[ele]d till ½ P[ast] 6[.] The Swelling of my body is going down fast[.] The Night Came in rainey so I sleapted in The Waggin with Brother Evans & Aishbee [Benjamin Ashby]
Monday 25 I felt Better[.] The Morning being fine The Camp moved at ½ P 7 AM and Traveled untill Noon[.] The Afternoon came in rainey so That we could not Travl[.] The Night was very weat
Tusday 26 very dull and rainey so That we Could not Travl untill 2 PM Then Travd till ½ P 5[.] I still got Better and could put on my boots and walk a little
Wensday 27 was Dull[.] Camp moved at 9 Am and Traveled untill 3 Pm Then some heavey rain full so That we did not Travl in the Evening[.] I walk about one mile This Day
Thursday 28 fine but The camp did not Travl untill 2 PM stoped There and some of the Brothern began to larn The gun Drull[drill.] Brother Jacks being There Teacher[.] Then Travd tell 5 PM Then Camped
Friday 29 fine Camp[.] Moved at ½ P 9 and Travd till Noon <I walk 8 miles> Then Stoped untill 2 Pm[.] Then Travd till ½ P 7 Pm
Satterday 30 rained till The Evening so That we could not Travl[.] I fult worst This Day Through walking so far The Day befor[.] Sister Hutchings was Taken Ill yesterday and greatley swellen [swollen] in The Bodey but she felt better to Day
Sunday 31 rained untill Noon[.] Preaching in The afternoon by Capt Evans[.] There was maney gentills [gentiles] came to [illegible strikeout] our Camp to hear him[.] I stoped in the Tent The hole of The Day not being able to walk for The weakness in my leggs
Monday June 1st Camp moved at ½ P 9 and Travd till Noon[.] Stoped untill 2 Pm Then Travd till ½ P 6[.] The Day fine and I walk about 12 mills
Tusday 2 was Dull[.] Camp moved at 8 am Came to Norton City Stoped There one hower [hour] to get some Store goods[.] Then we Travd till Noon[.] Then stoped There till ½ P 2 Then Travd till ½ P 5[.] The afternoon was fine I fult Better and walk untill 5 Pm
Wensday 3 The Day was fine Camp moved at 7 oclock and Travd till ½ P 11 Stoped till ½ P 2 Then Travd till 7 Pm I fult furst rate This Day and walked about 20 mills
Thursday 4 Camp moved at 8 Am Past Through Des = moines [Des Moines, Iowa.] The Toal Bridge There I paid 10 Cents for Mary and me[.] Travld till Noon Stoped till ½ P 2 Then Travd till ¼ P 8 Pm Then Camped[.] The Day was fine
Friday 5 Camp moved at 7 am Travd till ½ P 11 Stoped untill 2 Pm Then Traved on Passing Through Are Deal City Through The river about ½ P 5 Travd till 7 making about 25 mills This Day
Satter Day 6[.] Camp moved at ½ P 8 am Travd till ½ P 10 Then Stoped till One[.] Then Travd untill 7[.] The Day was fine
Sunday 7 Camp moved at 6 Am and Travd till ½ P One making 15 mills[.] The Day was fine but did not Travl aney more[.] in The evening it Thundered and Lightening and in The Night some rain fell
Monday 8 Camp moved at 8 am Travd untill 11 Then Stoped till ½ P one[.] Then Travd till 5 Pm[.] The Day was fine[.] This is The First Day The Flies Trubled us
Tusday 9 Camp moved at 7 am Travd till 11 Stoped at Grove City untill 2 Pm There ware but 4 houses in That City[.] The Day was very hot[.] Leaving from There we Travd till 6 PM
Wensday 10 Camp moved at 7 Passed Through Indian Town Travd till 11 Am Stoped untill [illegible] PM Then Travd untill 6
Thursday 11 Camp moved at 7 am Travd till 10 Then Stoped till [illegible] Then Travd till ½ P 5
Friday 12 Camp moved at 8 am Travd untill one Stoped till 3 [illegible] The beganing of The Bluf[f]s[.] Then Travd on to [Bluff] City and Camped at the back Part of the City in The Woods That Night[.] Wiled[wild] Ionons [onions] grows in great abundence at The Bluffs
Satterday 13 Camp moved at ½ Past 6 am Travd to The Misso[u]ri River Passing some of The Brothern That were going on There Missions to The States and to Englany [England.] Stoped at The river to noon one hower Then Took The Tug Boat and Crossed The river and went on The Camp ground at the City of Florence[.] [illegible] Day was fine some of the Brothern was There That had Crossed The Plains With The hand Car[t]s[.] Working for means to Carry Them on There missions[.] In The evening it raines in Torrence [torrents] heavey Thunder & Lightening
Sunday 14 The Weather was fine[.] Mettings ware huld on The ground and good Instructions given to The Saints by The Brothern That had came over The Plains with There Carts[.] in The evening The rain Came on very heavey
Monday 15 heavey Stormes[.] by This Time I was perty well only A little Weak
Tusday 16 raines[.] Previshons [provisions] ware given out for The Plains
Wensday <17> raines
Thursday 18 The morning was fine[.] P[r]eperations ware made for Starting but Cauld not find The mulls [mules] so Cauld not Leave
Friday 19 fine got rainey and Started at ½ P 8 Travd out to The Little Pappey [Papillion] 6 mills from The City[.] Stoped There Expecting Brother Snow & Taylor to visit The Camp but cauld not atend untill The following morning[.] Capting Evens Called A metting in the afternoon and issues us Instructions Conscurning our food and also Apointed me The Capting over The Thurd Devishon[.] This was The furst Day That I had been Drawing of An Cart[.] I had my Wife Sister Smith and Winchester at The Cart[.] we got on furst rate
Satterday 20 Camp moved at 10 went on The Top of the hill[.] Stoped There and huld metting[.] Brother Snow and Taylor being Present gived us good Instructions[.] we Then Travd to The Great Pappey[.] Stoped There to Dinner till ½ P 2 Then Travd to The Elk horne [Horn] River arrivning There at ½ P 8 PM[.] we There Over took The Waggin Com[pan]y of Brother W[illiam] Walkers Stoping There[.] The Water being so high we could not go over[.] The Day was fine
Sunday 21 Stoped at The River, The Water being up wards of 3 mills in Wedth[.] mettings ware huld on The ground AM. PM and in The evening by The both Companeys[.] The Day very fine
Monday 22. Camp moved at ½ P 6 tooked The upper road and Travd untill after 2 oclock[.] Stoped to Dinner Then Travd about A mill Crossed another river Then Camped[.] This Day I felt sick and fainted by The way being very work and not much food only one Pound of Breade P[e]r Day[.] The Weather very hot
Tuesday 23 some rain in The morning Camp moved at 8 am Passed Through Fortoneele [Fontanelle] City and Crossed The upper ferrey[.] Stoped to Dinner Then Crossed The Prov[illegible] to The Old mormon Road and Travd till after [illegible] PM
Wensday 24 Camp moved at ½ P 5 am Travd till 10 Then Stoped till 4 Then Travd till 8
Thursday 25 Camp moved at ½ P4 am Travd till 12 pm Stoped till 6 PM Then Travd till 8 PM[.] Nooned at The Plat[te] Creek
Friday 26 Camp moved at 4 but I and Brother Hugh Daves[Davis or Davies] went back 6 mills to The Plat Creek after our Bagg of Poark. The man had took it in his house so I had it all right[.] Camp Traveled till ½ P 3 Then Camped at Luck Foark [Loup Fork] reaver [river] till 4 PM Then Travd till after 8 am [pm.] Camped at Greerdy City
Satterday 27 Camp was ready to start at 4 but A very heavey Storm of rain full till about 9 Am[.] Then Travd till 11 Stoped till 2 Then Travd to Looking glass Creek where we got about 7 Pm[.] some of The Brothern Came out from Beaver Settelment Stoped with us all night
Sunday 28 Camp`moved at 6[.] The Brothern loaded There Waggons with Part of our Luggage so we arived at Gennoa [Genoa] City about 10 oclock[.] Camped There with The Settelers Brother’s Walkers Compy also[.] Mettings ware huld in The afternoon & evening[.] Brother Snow being Present Adressed us
Monday 29 Stoped and washed Thre [their] Things[.] The weather fine[.] The Gennoa Brothern Orginesid [organized] There Melleta [militia] Companys and Chosed There officers and went to Drull in The afternoon and in The evening[.] The Seluturay [saluatory] [L...ge] was Presented by The Sisters and raised by The Brothern[.] after which Dancing and other Injoyments wour huld[.] The Night Came in very rainey
Tusday 30 Stoped at The City untill 4 Oclock P.M Then Leaved to ford The Elk horn river. Acompaneyed by The Brothern of Gennoa with There Teems who ha[u]led our Provishons and the Sisters across The river[.] all got over Saff [safe.] Camped near The river[.] some of The Brothern Camped with us
Wensday July 1 Camp was called up at 4 and went giving out Flower [flour] to The Compy so That we Did not move befor 10 Am[.] Then Travd untill Noon stoped till 3 PM Then Travd till 8
Thursday 2 Camp moved at 5 AM and Travd till ½ P 10 Stoped till 3 PM Then Travd till Sun Set
Friday 3 Camp moved at 7 am Travd till Noon Stoped till ½ P 3 Then Travd till Sun Down
Satterday 4 Camp moved at 20 m[inutes] to 6 Am and Travd till ¼ P 12 Then Stoped till ¼ P 3 at The Prearey [Prairie] Creeck. Then Crossed The Creeck and Travd till 6 PM
Sunday 5 Camp moved at 6 Am and Travd till Noon Stoped till 4 Pm Then Travd till 7
Monday 6 Camp moved at 6 am Travd till ½ P 10 Stoped till ½ P one then Travd till 6 PM (Camped at Wopa River)
Tusday 7 Camp moved at 5 am Travd till Noon Stoped at The Plat river Creek till 5 Pm Then Travd till ½ P 7
Wensday 8 Camp moved at 6 Trav till 11 Am then Stoped at Elam [Elm] Creek till 2 Pm then Trav till 8 and Campd at The Beffeylow [Buffalo] River[.] Thursday 9 Camp This afternoon Capt Evens and other of the Brothern went out and Shot A Bufflow fowallowed him about 5 mills killed him Then got some Carts and loaded him on and hauld him in Camp[.] it was heavey rain in The Night
Thursday 9 Cut up and waid [weighed] out The meat to The Compy[.] Then moved out about 8 am[.] Travd till about ½ P 10 Crossed The river Camped There to wait for Brothers Snow & Taylor who came up shortly after[.] Brother Walkers Waggon Company formed up in The Evening and Camped with us
Friday 10 heavey rain in The morning[.] Camp moved at ½ P 12 Travd 2 mills and Camped at The upper part of The Creek
Satterday 11 Camp moved at 6 am Travd till Noon Stoped One hower Then Travd till ½ P 4[.] Camped at Creek
Sunday 12 Capt Evens and other of The Brothern went in surch of Our Oxen That went off in an heavey Storm about 11 Oclock in The Night Prives [previous] but Could not find them [,] which ware 4 head[.] Brother Walkers Compy fitted our Waggin with There Cattle took it 5 mills up The river to where They ware Camping and Stoped There[.] The Brothern did not return until 8 Oclock The same evening[.] The Night was rainey
Monday 13 rained in The morning[.] The Camp did not moved untill Twentey minuts Past 11[.] The Waggin Company Lent us 3 yoake of There Cattle to Draw our Provishon Waggon otherwise we should have had to Leave the Waggin and to hall our Flower in our Carts[.] we Travd till 3 Stoped till 5 Then Travd till Sun Down
Tusday 14 Camp moved at 7 am Travd till Noon Stoped till 2 PM Then Travd till Sun Sett
Wensday 15 Camp moved 10 M[inutes] to 7 Then Travd till Noon[.] Then Stoped till ½ P 4 Then Travd till sun Sett[.] Camped at The Plat river and about 9 Oclock Brother James Reader of Templeton munsaish [Monmouthshire] <england> Died after A Long Illness in full faith of The gosple Leaving A Wife and one Child and soon will be another
Thursday 16 Some of The Brothers Dugged This grave Capt Evens Called The Camp to order and huld Prayer over The ramains of his Bodey[.] Then Brother Gibbens [Thomas Gibbons] and myself laid him in The grave[.] he layis about 280 mills West of Gennoa Near The road on The left hand Side[.] Camp moved at ¼ P 7 Travd till Noon Stoped till 4 Then Travd till Sun sett
Friday 17 Camp moved at ½ P 7 Travd till Noon Stoped till 5 Then Travd till ½ P 7[.] Travd about 12 mills of vury heavey Sand road
Satterday 18 Camp moved about 6 Travd till one Then Stoped 4 howers Then Travd till ½ P 8[.] The Night was rainey

Satterday 2 Camp moved at ½ P 6 am Travd till 11 Am Then Camped The Remaender of The Day becose There ware no feed for The Cattle for 14 mills
Sunday 3 Camp moved at 7 am Travd till noon Stoped till ½ P 2 Then Travd till ½ P 6
Monday 4 Little rain in The morning Camp moved at ½ P 8 Then Travd to Horse Shooe [Horseshoe] Settelment about 1/2 P 11. Stoped There The afternoon
Tusday 5 got A supply of Flower and got som Smithing and [-] to The Waggin [-] Leave There at ½ P one and Travd till 8 PM making 15 mills
Wensday 6 Camp moved at 8 A[M] and Travd till 12 Stoped till 20 M[inutes] P 3 Then Travd till 8
Thursday 7 Camp moved at ½ P 7 and Travd till 2 PM Stoped till ¼ P 3 Then Travd till 6
Friday 8 Camp moved at ¼ P 7 and Travd till 20 to 12 Stoped 3 howers Then Travd till ½ P 5
Satterday 9 Camp moved at 7 & Travd till 11 Then we arived at Dair [Deer] Creek Settlement Camped in A Large shoede [shed] at The Station[.] The Brothern reseved us with great joy and killed A Fat Ox for us[.] we also got A Frish suplye of Flower
Sunday 9 Mettings ware huld at 10, 2 & 6 Oclock
Monday 10 Stoped There and in The evening we had Danceing and Sinning [singing]
Thusday 11 heavey wind
Wensday 12 hevey wind untill The Evening Then we moved out one mille and Camped
Thursday 13 Camp moved at ½ P 7 Travd till Noon Stoped 2 howers Then Travd till ½ P 6
Friday 14 Camp moved at 7 after Came A hevey Storm of rain[.] Travd about 8 mill Then Crossed The Plat[te] river and Stoped There 1½ howers[.] Then Travd 3 mills Then Camped at The Last Campground of The Plat river[.] We There joined with The Iowa Waggin Company Jessey Mortin [Jesse B. Martin] being There Captin so we Travd on together
Satterday 15 Camp moved at 8 and Travd till Noon at The Last Camp ground and stoped There untill morning
Sunday16 Camp moved at 8 and Travd till ¼ P 12 Stoped 2 howers then Travd till 5[.] Camped at Willow Springs
Monday 17 Camp moved at 10 and Travd till ½ P 2 Then Camped at grece Wood Rever [Greasewood Creek] till morning
Tusday 18 Camp moved at ½ P 7 Travd till 12 Stoped 3½ howers at The Sweet Water [Sweetwater] river[.] hear I gathered Sallerastus [Saleratus] and carried it to The Valley to raise our Broede [bread] Then Travd till 8 and Camped at The Devels [Devils] gate Station[.] I went through The gate gathered some Currents and Carried some Through for seed
Wensday 19 Stoped There and got Flower and our oxen shod
Thursday 20 Camp moved out and Travd till ½ P one Stoped 2½ howers Then Travd till ½ P 6
Friday 21 Camp moved at 20 to 8 and Travd till ½ P 11 Stoped [illegible] ¼ howers Then Travd till ½ P 6
Satterday 22 Camp moved at 20 to 8 and Travd till about Noon Then Camped till morning becose Thore [illegible strikeout] was no Water for 16 mills[.] rained Through The Night
Sunday 23 Camp moved at 8 and Travd till ½ P 12 Stoped one hower Then Travd till 5 Camped at The Sweet Watter [Sweetwater]
Monday 24 Camp moved at ¼ to 8 Travd till ½ P 12 Stoped 2 howers Then Travd till 5
Tusday 25 Camp moved at[ illegible] P 7 and Travd till ½ P 11 Stoped 2½ howers Then Travd till ½ P 5 and Camped at The Sweet Water Station but found it Dessolat[.] The Brothern being Called in
Wensday 26 Camp moved at ¼ to 8 Travd till 11 Stoped 4 howers Then Travd till ½ P 5 and Camped at The Pacfectist [Pacific] Springs[.] There meet 70 of The Brothern from Salt Lak going out on The Experdishon [expedition.] Frost There That night ½ Inch Thick
Thursday 27 Camp moved at 8 Travd till 10 Down The Springs Stoped There 5 howers[.] Then Took The Wright hand road and travd till 6 Pm[.] That Night alittle Snowed on The mountens
Friday 28 Camp moved at ½ P 6 am Travd till Noon Camp at Little sandy river untill morning
Satterday 29 Camp moved at ½ P 7 and Travd till 11[.] Camped at great Sandey [Sandy] river till 3 Oclock Then Travd till 7
Sunday 30 Camp moved at ¼ P 7 and Travd till 11 and Camped at The last Crossing of G[rea]t Sandey untill morning[.] metting huld at 5 Oclock Pm

Tusday September 1th Camp moved at ½ P 7 and Travd Till ¼ to 4 & Camped at Black[s] forke river making about 15 mills without Water[.] Stop till morning
Wensday 2 The morning was rainey Camp moved at 10 and got to ham[’s] Fork at ½ P 11 Stoped There an hower ½ Then Travd till 7 and Camped at Black fork Crossing[.] Stormes
Thursday 3 Camp moved at 7 and Travd till ½ P 12 Stoped one hower Then Travd till ½ P 5 and Camped at ford [Fort] Bridger
Friday 4 Stoped There and got some Potaters Turnips Beats Flower & Beaf

Tusday 8 Camp moved at 8 and Travd till 12 Stoped 4 howers[.] Capt Evons shurshed [searched] The Camp for some Things That had been Taken from The Waggon but Could not find it in Camp[.] Then Travd till ¼ P7
Wensday 9 Camp moved at ¼ P 8 from Weber Rever and Travd till Noon and stoped 2 howers[.] Then Travd till 6 and Camped at The Fourth Crossing of The East Cannion [Canyon] Creeck [Creek]
Thursday 10 heavey Thunder Storm Camp moved at 7 and Travd till one[.] Stoped 2 howers Then Travd till 6 and Camped at The foot of The Little mounton
Friday 11 Camp moved at 10 to 8 and Travd within 5 mills of The City[.] Stoped to Wash ourselfs Then roaled in The City to The Human [Union] Square and Camped in Lines at ½ P 2
