GOOD FOR THE IMMIGRATION.—The immigration, the tail end of it, is later this year than usual, not being in yet, though latter October is here—here almost unperceived, so mild and charming is the weather. Jack Frost comes courteously, like a gentleman on a severe mission, and as though undesirous of handling us without gloves. King Sol is evidently intent upon extending the period of his reign to as liberal bounds as possible. Those things are propitious, for, besides other advantages, the pilgrims on the plains will thereby have an excellent chance of coming in with sound fingers and toes.
