Markleeville, January 28th About one o'clock to-day, as John H. Williams, Superintendent of I.X. L. Mining Company, and Christopher Nelson, Harry [Henry] Mercer and Iver Hanson were going to their claim, they were suddenly buried in a snow slide. Hanson was taken out alive. About four o'clock the bodies of Williams and Nelson were found. Up to five o' clock Mercer was not found.
