Eligibility and General Rules
- Open to all members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints age 18 or above (members must be age 18 by the final day of submission, April 12, 2024); in addition, anyone, including those who are not Church members, may submit a paper for the Academic Research Article category. Those under the age of 18 who are enrolled in a secondary school or university may submit via their parent, legal guardian, or teacher.
- Submissions are limited to one entry per person, and a person may submit in only one category.
- Submissions may be in any language. Use the language in which you are best able to express yourself.
- The final submission must not have been previously published.
- We welcome a variety of storytelling and historical traditions. Submissions must be submitted as a shared link (with public access) or in the following formats: print or manuscript (.docx, .pdf, .txt, .rtf, .jpg), audio (.mp3, .wav, .aif), or video (.mp4, .mov). If submitting via YouTube, use an unlisted link. Please submit your entry here.
- This contest excludes visual art and sculpture (though text may be accompanied by illustrations or photos, and art submissions are welcomed for the International Art Competition held every three years).
- Submissions must adhere to the length guidelines relevant to each of the four competition categories.
- Entrants for this Phase I of the Global Church History Competition must be from Regions 1 and 2; that is, the Church’s Mexico, Central America, Caribbean, or Pacific Areas.
