Graff uses books to illustrate the individual narratives we are creating through our mortal experience. But, she points out, we gain from the stories of others. The pictured bookshelf invites viewers to read and explore. As we follow Paul’s injunction to "receive ye one another" (Romans 15:7), we learn from the unique experiences of individuals in our communities.
